Short Profile
CEO and Co-Founder of RetinAI and a PhD in machine learning and medical imaging in ophthalmology. Research interests My research interests include signal and medical image processing, machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, image segmentation and image registration. My PhD focuses on multi-modal imaging in Ophthalmology (MRI, Fundus Image photography & OCT). Extended Bio I was born in Barcelona, Spain. I received my degree in Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and finished my studies at the Signal Processing Laboratory (LTS5) of the EPFL, where I did my master thesis under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran. From 2013 to 2016, I did my PhD between the Medical Image Analysis Laboratory (MIAL-CIBM) of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) at CHUV, and the Ophthalmic Technologies Laboratory, ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering at Universität Bern. My PhD focused on image processing methods for creating a multi-modal patient specific eye model (MRI, Fundus Image Photography, OCT...). I conducted my research under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran, Dr. Meritxell Bach Cuadra, Dr. Jens Kowal and Dr. Raphael Sznitman (ARTORG, Bern), with the support of several swiss grant from the Swiss Cancer League (Grant number: KLS-2937-02-2012), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and the Hasler Foundation. In September 2015 I arrived to the Biomedical Image Analysis (BioMedIA) group, at the Imperial College London, where I was under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Rueckert. |
